Deep in the heart of the African wilderness, where the mighty waters of the Chobe River run through Botswana, you’ll find the Zambezi Queen, a floating hotel that combines the best of luxury and elegance with the wild essence of Africa.

The view is ever-changing: elephants wading in the shallows or crossing in merry groups, fish eagles wheeling overhead, sunsets that will take your breath away. Experience it all from your private suite aboard the luxury 45-meter houseboat, surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the wilderness.

Sit back and relax in the air-conditioned lounge, which offers a comprehensive library of books on the surrounding area and a DVD player with wildlife documentaries. The dining area is located alongside an open-plan lounge with a wood-burning fireplace. Make sure to use the astronomical telescope situated on the foredeck to explore the African night-time sky. The stylish bar is stocked with the finest wines and spirits and affords magnificent views for a relaxing evening. All areas are protected by mosquito screens which allow for a comfortable and pleasant environment for relaxing, wining, and dining.

Relaxing on the top deck is a truly luxurious experience, take a dip in the pool before sitting back in the shady area with a good book, or rejuvenate with a beauty or massage treatment with one of the friendly and experienced beauticians.

ACCOMMODATION

With a design specific for safari river cruising on the Chobe River, the 28-passenger Zambezi Queen offers a sophisticated onboard experience designed to maximize animal sightings. Your comfort is ensured when staying in any of the 14 air-conditioned balcony staterooms (which range up to 300 sq. ft), all decorated in a contemporary style.

The air-conditioned top deck of the ship offers a dining room, lounge, bar, and pool area for your comfort. Enjoy game watching from your stateroom, or visit the top deck for a beverage, sunbathing and more game watching. Peruse the library of books, enjoy a board game, and explore the riverbanks of the Chobe River on the Zambezi Queen.

UNIQUE DINING EXPERIENCES

While onboard the Zambezi Queen, our guests will dine in absolute opulence whilst taking in the unique African surroundings. Situated on the 3rd level, the dining room offers unobstructed views on three sides. Experience delectable dishes such as butternut and macadamia soup and fillet of beef with bordelaise sauce paired with the perfect wine. The mornings offer a full English breakfast and the afternoons offer a lavish gourmet lunch buffet. In the evenings, be our honored guest for an elegant, formal dining experience, the perfect ending to your daily river cruise adventures. We offer complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, and bottled water throughout the cruise.

ECO-FRIENDLY BOAT

Responsibility towards the environment forms the foundation upon which this eco-boat was built. A water jet propulsion system replaces the conventional propeller system, causing no damage to the river bed. Only the latest fuel-efficient and low emission generators are run during daylight hours, with the boat operating on battery power through the night. Hot water is provided by a solar heating system. There are energy-saving lights throughout as well as water-saving taps and showers. Cleaning detergents and soaps are biodegradable and all sewage is processed on board. The boat has it’s own five-stage water purification plant, using river water in showers and faucets.
